For many artists, the cost of supplies and studio space makes their passion unaffordable.

In this week's Carolina Moment, photojournalist Steve Wilder profiles a BeLoved Asheville program that helps homeless and low income artists have a place to create and sell their work.

Rise Up Studios will have a booth in the South Slope area during Saturday's XPand fest. The event will be held from 3 p.m. - 9 p.m., and 100 percent of all sales go directly to the artists.
