Baby Boot Camp provides local moms with self-care and sisterhood
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) —
A group of moms in Hendersonville are getting a little help with self-care through Baby Boot Camp.
With their children in tow, mothers gather at Jackson Park for a workout session in a family-friendly environment.
"We do a full, high-intensity training workout," Jennifer McDonald, an instructor of the Baby Boot Camp Stroller Fitness Class, explained.
The fencing around the baseball field keeps the children in while the moms exercise.
"It's wonderful because we're kind of enclosed. I don't have to worry that my kids are running everywhere," Barbi Brittain, the mother of twin 2-year-olds, said. "I'm able to focus on getting time for myself to get my body healthy."
"The one thing that I found that was such a trial is getting up and getting out with a baby. It's a whole new adventure," McDonald said.
Along with exercise, the boot camp creates a sisterhood of motherhood.
"It's been like the best support group I could have ever found," Brittain said.
Baby Boot Camp of Asheville and Hendersonville offers stroller fitness classes and 5K training.
