Those wanting to take a look at some of the most beautiful, newly constructed homes, in Asheville will have the opportunity to do so starting Saturday, October 14, 2017.

The free tour includes over 30 homes in a self-guided tour, open from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. October 14th-15th and October 21st-22nd.

Local company, Red Tree Builders has 2 homes in the parade, include one that features North Carolina’s first “SmartFlower.” The SmartFlower is touted as the world’s first all-in-one solar system. The company says, inspired by flowers that track the sun across the horizon throughout the day, the SmartFlower comes out of the ground at sunrise, fans out its solar “petals” and begins the needed system preparation to capture the sun’s rays throughout the day. The flower turns to face the sun at a 90-degree angle, following it throughout the day, before folding itself up for compact storage at night. This uniquely designed and innovative solar application paired with Red Tree's energy efficient homes (that demand less power than the typical house) will produce enough annual electricity for the average residential family.

A long-standing tradition in the Asheville area, the annual Parade of Homes provides consumers with an array of beautiful new construction, innovative technology and the latest in building design over two weekends each October. Whether you are planning your next project, dream home or just looking to explore, the Parade of Homes offers all of this and more!
