LiveWell: Luke Notestine

News 13 is gearing-up for a big health initiative.

The LiveWell Expo happens next month and we're getting ready by talking about what staying healthy means to us.

News 13's Weekend Sports Anchor, Luke Notestine says he focuses on staying in shape and having fun.

Luke says he's been luck enough to cross off one of the top items on his bucket list, skydiving! He had the chance to take the plunge while working on a story at his last job in Dayton, Ohio.

One of Luke's true passions is golf. Luke and Sports Director Stan Pamfilis hit the links whenever they have a bit of free time.

"The best part about coming out here to play golf with Stan is that we get to know each other a little bit better.  But you better believe we're competing against each other.  Usually the loser has to buy lunch.  Sometimes that's me, and sometimes that's Stan. That's why I've gotten so big!"

Be it fun with the Asheville Tourists or tackling his first half-marathon a few months ago, Luke says he loves the components of staying in shape. Luke says the physical and mental challenges it presents keep him focused and ready for anything.

After a workout, there is nothing Luke would like to eat more than a Resses's Peanut Butter Cup, but he doesn't do it.  Instead he goes for lean proteins like deli turkey and lots of green things, like broccoli!
