A well-known drive-in diner in West Asheville has closed up shop.

The Sonic shut down last summer for remodeling, but local Sonic fans hoped it was just closed temporarily.

A note in the window said it was closed for remodeling--but now there's a "for sale" sign out front.

Pulliam Properties said the Sonic owner hired the company to sell the property, which is now under contract with a developer.

There's no word yet on what the future holds for the location.

The listing price for the 0.9 acre piece of property on Patton Avenue is $1.3 million.
