The building boom around Asheville continues to expand. Now, folks are asking questions about a lot in Mills River.

A big lot is being cleared across from Valley Ag Farm and Garden.

"Why are they clearing the land at the intersection of Boylston Highway and South Mills River Road?" Barb Williams, of Horsehoe, asked.

If you haven't been by this area lately, you'll notice the wooded lot on the corner of South Mills River Road has been cleared. There's also been a lot of excavating.

Property owner Marshall Hagan, of HRP Development in Mills River, has a sign there that says fill dirt is available.

Hagan bought the property a couple years ago with future plans for development in mind. To prepare the 16 acre lot, he's decided to lower the elevation and sell some of the dirt, a lot of which is going to two major development projects nearby.

Hagan said he has no immediate plans for the property, but he's hopeful that it'll be a great location for a development.
