Wanted: Ugly Women for Army Ads

Updated: Thursday, November 21 2013, 05:12 AM EST
The U.S. Army wants women to be all that they can be - except pretty. In a leaked email obtained by "Politico," a female colonel recommend that the army use only "ugly" or "average-looking" women in its publicity photos. Colonel Lynette Arnhart wrote quote, "ugly women are perceived as competent while pretty women are perceived as having used their looks to get ahead." The email has sparked outrage online, with people saying that a woman's attractiveness has nothing to do with whether she's fit to serve. An Army spokesman says the email was part of "internal discussion," and not official policy.
