Cold Weather Car Preparations
Updated: Tuesday, November 12 2013, 07:16 AM EST
if we don't get major accumulation, just the chance for our first snow
of the season is a good reason to make sure your ride is ready for
winter. This morning, Rick Holbert, owner of Tire Master in East Flat Rock
walked News 13's Victoria Dunkle through the steps for making sure your
cars, trucks and SUV's are ready for the snow, ice and cold. He says the first step is making sure your tires are in good shape.
That includes checking the tread depth and pressure. You also want to
make sure your battery terminals are clean and make sure it is not too
old. He said you should check your coolant, windshield wipers, and wiper fluid. And he said now is a good time to check and restock your emergency
kit for your car. It should include a blanket, water, food, flashlight
with batteries. You can call Rick for more help getting your car ready for the winter roads at 828-697-6838 or click here.
