Future of Historic Mill

Updated: Friday, August 2 2013, 09:27 PM EDT

A nearly 100-year-old building could be seeing new life.

Today the Hendersonville City Council is holding a special meeting to discuss development of the Grey Hosiery Mill Building.

The city leaders will hear the details of four proposals for redeveloping the historic building.

Previous ideas have included turning the former sock knitting mill into an event center, loft apartments, and loft business space.

The Grey family built the mill in 1915, since 1967 the building has been home to a craft store and the temporary home of the Henderson County Library.

In January, it served as the secret location for filming of a local, independent film "Shadows on the Walls."

The meeting is at 10:00 a.m. this morning.
