Identity Theft Protection

Updated: Thursday, February 6 2014, 08:06 AM EST
From the grocery store to the doctor's office, every day your identity is at risk of being stolen. Celeste Collins, Executive Director of On-Track Financial Education and Counseling, and Jim Kelly, Mission Health's Information Security Officer, stopped by to share ways to protect yourself.

Medical theft is hitting victims at their most vulnerable. It's happening at hospitals and doctor's office waiting rooms. In the age of smart phones, it's easy to take a picture or video, and a lot of this personal information can be found on medical forms filled out in waiting rooms. Kelly offers ways patients can protect themselves and what Mission Health is doing to prevent hacking or lifting of records.

Collins shares more ways to protect yourself in this digital era. She says also opting out of junk mail can help protect you. You can call 1-888-567-8688 to opt out, or visit this website. Identity Theft Protection
