Today, you can help local families have a Christmas they will never forget. News 13 teams up with Ingles & Clear Channel for the Ingles Magical Christmas Toy Drive.
We're on site at the Ingles on Tunnel Road today, December 6th, until 7 p.m. But if you can't stop by today, the collection runs through tomorrow, December 7th, at 2 p.m. All toys and donations collected go to thousands of children in our area at risk of not having a present this Christmas morning. The toys collected are going to Eblen Charities' Saint Nicholas Project.
Here's a few facts about the drive:
-The Ingles Magical Christmas Toy Drive kicks off on Thursday, December 5th at 6 a.m. and goes until Saturday, December 7th at 2 p.m. The drive will be open until 8 p.m. every night and Clear Channel will be on sight for all three days.
-All toys and monetary donations collected during this drive will go to Eblen Charities’ Saint Nicholas Project.
-The donations will go to thousands of children in our area at risk of not having a present Christmas morning.
-It is estimated at that over 30,000 toys will be needed this season.
-The Smokey Mountain Toy Run, which is scheduled for Saturday, will pass by the Ingles Magical Toy Drive on Tunnel Road. Both events will come together for a wrap up in Pack Square that afternoon.
Once all the toys are collected, Eblen Charities will open up the Ingles Toy “Store” in the old Bon Marche located in Westgate Mall on December 10th. Rather than designating toys, agencies and families in need can come to the store to handpick their toys from December 10th through Christmas Eve. The “store” hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Eblen Charities will continue to take donations until Christmas Eve, as well.
For more information about receiving toys, viewers can call Eblen Charities at 828-255-3066 or just show up at the store once it’s open. There is no need to pre-register. The Ingles Magical Toy Drive is sponsored by Ingles, Clear Channel & News 13.
