Morning Freezing Storm Update

Updated: Friday, January 3 2014, 07:52 AM EST
Snow and strong winds combined to make a dangerous start to our Friday morning.

There are reports of up to three inches of snow in the Fines Creek area of Haywood County, and the accumulation ranges from a dusting to three inches in other Mountain Counties.

The wind blew a tree onto a home on Tunnel Road in Asheville and trapped a man.  Dispatchers say he is OK and the Red Cross is helping him with temporary housing.
The DOT has had crews treating interstates and main roads around the clock, but they say the winds bowing the snow back onto the roads making their jobs more challenging.
