Puppyfest Competition

Updated: Friday, September 27 2013, 07:42 AM EDT
Your puppy could become a television celebrity!

Puppyfest will debut at the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville on September 28th.  It's a competition to find the next "spokes-puppy".

It will appear on dog products like Green Earth Pet Food that's produced in Asheville.  The winner will take home a trophy and cash prize.

During the competition, producers will be filming the entire process as a pilot for a possible television show.

Joshua Warren, creator/co-producer Puppyfest, "some are calling it American Idol with paws. We hope to take the pilot to places like Animal Planet, National Geographic, A&E and see if we can turn this into a great tv program."

No registration is required, just show up at the U.S. Cellular Center around 11AM on Saturday September 28th, and make sure to bring your puppy's vaccination records.

Entrance fees are $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and a portion of the money will benefit local animal groups.Puppyfest Competition
