A terrifying crash in Indiana injures a Kentucky man and his son.
The fiery accident happened on Interstate 74, Thursday afternoon when a semi trailer, driven by Ryan T. Young, of Ownton, Ky., attemped to avoid a vehicle drifting into his lane.
Young told authorities he swerved to avoid the vehicle and ran off the south side of the interstate.
The semi was then driven up a hill and through a guardrail.
Young continued eastbound and ramped the U.S. 421 interchange before striking another guardrail, tearing off the truck’s fuel tanks and causing its fuel to ignite.
The driver reportedly suffered minor facial and head injuries in the crash. His seven-year-old son, who was a passenger in the vehicle, suffered only scratches.
Both were transported to Decatur County Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
