The need to protect and preserve wildlife is growing.
Development, disease, and other threats are putting animals at risk all over the world.
This week we take time to thank the people who help make sure we don't lose these amazing creatures.
This morning, Sarah Miller with the WNC Nature Center showed News 13's Victoria Dunkle how they care for the animals.
The day includes preparing meals that are close to what the animals would find in nature.
The staff also prepares enrichment that stimulate the animals. The WNC Nature Center is home to Otters, Wolves and other animals native to the Southern Appalachians.
