ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The folks at Applebee's welcomed a special guest. Three-year-old Thatcher of Cherokee lives with lissencephaly, a rare brain disorder.

Make-a-Wish sent Thatcher to Disney World.

And at the Hendersonville Road Applebee's employees, working to raise $3500 for Make-a-Wish, got to meet Thatcher for the first time.

They've teamed up with the the foundation for the entire month of June to raise money to help children with life-threatening medical conditions make a wish come true.

For $25, a manager will take a pie in the face. Servers will do it for 10 bucks, and each topping is another dollar.

The Hendersonville Road Applebee's also has Make-a-Wish shirts for sale, and of course you can leave a donation.

Friday they teamed up with the folks at Gold's Gym, washing cars in the parking lot. "It's reassuring to know that people in the world are good," said manager Felicia Ruff.

If you'd like to help out, come on down to Applebee's on Hendersonville Road.
