Bothwell told the public that city government officials still plan to help bring in more green jobs and 100 percent clean energy by 2050.

Bothwell says events like All Go West always help the cause of clean energy.

"I certainly hope that if I make my time available to speak at these events that we're going to make a difference," he said. "I think people will respond. I mean, Asheville people really care about the environment. They really, really care."
