A Buncombe man accused of taking money for paving work that was never completed has pleaded guilty and been sentenced.

Thirty-nine-year-old Daryl Campbell, pled guilty in Buncombe County Superior Court Thursday to eight counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.

He was sentenced to four consecutive sentences of 15 to 27 months.

Campbell was arrested this past spring on charges he took money from homeowners in Leicester, Biltmore Lake, and Asheville to pave or repair driveways but never returned to do the work.

In all of the cases, he either never started the work or completed only a small part of it.

He was also ordered to pay over $42,000 in restitution to his victims.
