Today, people gathered at the Cold Mountain Corn Maize in Canton, to raise money for a family in need.

Tyler Treadway has a brain injury.

His family says the money will go toward getting him a new wheelchair. His mother says the family's already been through a lot.

"He accidentally overdosed, and I almost lost him that day, two weeks after graduation. He just made a mistake," said Angie Treadway. "I love our community and our mountains. I lost my other son on his on his sixteenth birthday. I lost him too."

The family needs about $10,000 for a new wheelchair, and there will be a donation bucket at the corn maze throughout the season.

It's located at 4168 Pisgah Drive in Canton.
