Chai Pani to donate profits to local charity
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Dining at one Asheville restaurant Wednesday night will help make a difference for local students with struggling families.
Chai Pani is giving 10 percent of profits tonight to "Children First/Communities in Schools."
They help families with tutoring, putting food on the table and even help teach parenting skills across Buncombe County.
The program said one in four children in Buncombe County are living in poverty.
"We love kids," Matt Shepard, shift manager at Chai Pani, said. "We want to support kids and hunger causes, so this month we're doing it with Children First."
Every first Wednesday through June, Chai Pani will donate to another non-profit in the community focusing on children.
