City of Hendersonville cancels New Year's event
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) —
Henderson County government put the word out on Facebook Sunday night: the apple won't be rising this year.
The Apple Rise event was to take place in downtown Hendersonville.
The full Facebook statement is below:
We apologize for the unhappy news, but due to the inclement weather and hazardous roadways tonight, December 31, 2017, the Henderson County New Year's Eve Apple Rising festivities have been officially rescheduled for December 31, 2018. There is a winter weather advisory tonight until at least 10:00 p.m. because of freezing drizzle. Please use extreme caution when traveling the roadways! Be safe and have a very Happy New Year.
