BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. -- Tickets are still available for a concert that will raise money for a special set of programs in the county.

"Sounds for Recovery" will be held at 40 Church Street downtown on Thursday night.

It goes to benefit treatment courts, which includes drug treatment and veterans treatment court.

Instead of sending certain non-violent offenders straight to jail, these programs get them help so they can beat addiction.

"The funding that we raise is very necessary," drug treatment court coordinator Tracie Bodford said. "It's going to halfway house beds, medical treatment, dental care, AANA literature, education, tuition - I mean, you name it."

"Why not give a veteran a chance? And so that's what we're doing," Dr. Eric Howard, a veterans treatment court coordinator, said. "We're giving them an opportunity to reclaim status in their life. They've made mistakes through trauma and addiction."

The concert will feature half a dozen different artists. Click here if you'd like to purchase tickets.
