Chef Karin White has already opened the Dutch Broad Market and Cafe, which focuses on Dutch foods, including farm-fresh cheeses. Now the trio is working to turn a 27,000-square-foot church into a community center.

"We're seeing an influx of people from the Tryon Equestrian Center. Folks are actually showing up and looking for home sites in this area," developer Johnny White said. "We want to be on the ground floor of that as developers and spend a little energy showing them what a nice, little, Southern small community can be."

There's no date for the community center to be completed. There is several more months of work to be done.
