Downtown Hendersonville brewery announces closing hours before overnight break-in

On their Facebook page, Black Star Line Brewing posted a message that said "Thanks for the love, Hendersonville. At this time, we will no longer be operating on 131 3rd Ave W. We'll let you know about updates as soon as they are available. Thank you."  (Photo credit: WLOS Staff)

One of the mountains' newest breweries is closing up shop, making an announcement hours before a break-in Thursday night.

Black Star Line Brewing just opened in October of last year in downtown Hendersonville.

Luther Smith, the building’s owner, confirms with News 13 that there was a break-in at the building, but did not want to comment beyond that.

On its Facebook page, Black Star Line Brewing posted a message that said "Thanks for the love, Hendersonville. At this time, we will no longer be operating on 131 3rd Ave W. We'll let you know about updates as soon as they are available. Thank you."

This isn't the first setback the owners of the brewery have dealt with. Just a month after opening, owners say messages started appearing in the comments section of their website.

The messages contained threats of violence and even death against blacks and gays.
