Evacuated Henderson, Buncombe County residents can return home Saturday

County officials announced on Friday that some residents can soon return home after being evacuated from the Party Rock Fire.

HENDERSON COUNTY

Re-entry for evacuated residents in Henderson County, Bat Cave and along Highway 9 will happen on Saturday, Nov. 19, at noon.

Officials said windshield passes are required to enter these areas. Only affected residents and businesses would be able to get a re-entry permit.

Permits can be obtained directly from the Bat Cave Fire Department.

The evacuation area affected by this notice will remain closed to visitors and through-traffic on Highway 74-A/64 until further notice.

BUNCOMBE COUNTY

All evacuated Buncombe County residents will be allowed back into their homes effective noon on Saturday. No re-entry permit will be required.

The evacuation center has relocated from the Grace Lutheran Church to the 7th Day Adventist Church at 2301 Asheville Highway, Henderson, N.C. 28739.
