Thanks to an outpouring of generosity from the community, many kids in need will have gifts on Christmas morning.

The Ingles Toy Store was open on Thursday, Dec. 7 at the Westgate Shopping Center.

The shop is full of toys and other gifts donated to Eblen Charities through efforts, including the St. Nicholas Project, in coordination with News 13.

People in need sign up through Eblen Charities. From there, they get to choose what they bring home for the holidays.

"It's important that they get a chance to find something they can pick out for their little boy or girl that they'd really like," Eblen Charities' Bill Murdock said. "So, instead of just handing them an age appropriate toy, it makes Christmas that much more special for everyone."

Last year, the Ingles Toy Store provided Christmas gifts for 4,500 kids.

To sign up, go to the Eblen Charities office in the West Gate Shopping Center. Just bring your photo ID, as well as social security information for you and your children.
