The Asheville Fire Department is coming together and asking for help for one of their own.

Will Willis is a 33-year-old father of four, and has been with Asheville Fire Department for nearly eight years. He's also fighting a rare form of cancer that has no proven medical cure.

On Friday, Dec. 15, firefighters are holding a fundraiser at Green Man Brewing in Asheville to raise money for Will and his family.

Will's cousin, Josh Jenkins, is also a firefighter and says his cousin has support from two families.

"Family-wise, we're trying to be real close and do what families do," Jenkins said. "We have a very strong, big family that have done that, and we have another big family here at Asheville Fire Department and this family is doing that, as well."

The benefit begins at 5 p.m. on Friday at Green Man Brewing, located in Asheville's South Slope.

There will be a special beer named in Will's honor and a silent auction.

A GoFundMe account has been created to help the family as Will continues his fight.
