The head of a local Fraternal Order of Police lodge on Tuesday clarified a fundraising mixup.

Some people complained after getting calls from the FOP, thinking their local law enforcement agency called for money.

Local FOP head Rondell Lance said he's talked to his members about more clearly identifying themselves when raising money for events like this weekend's Glow Run.

The fourth annual Glow Run is at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at Fletcher Park. It will be dark, so bring a flashlight. Packet pickup will be 3-4:50 p.m. Registration ends at 10:55 a.m. Dec. 8. Proceeds for the run are split between the local lodge and Henderson County Special Olympics.

"If you go to the games, they put 110 percent and they put all they got just to compete. And, so, they're great athletes. It's a great blessing, and it re-energizes the excitement that they have for participating against one another and participating in the games," Lance said.
