We have new information this morning about a crash along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Emergency officials confirm they located a body about 400 feet from the crash. They say a car plunged about 250 feet over an embankment just north of Craggy Gardens. First responders worked through the night in tough terrain to recover a body from the scene. We are still working to learn the cause of the crash and the name of the person who died.

An overnight stabbing in Brevard left a 6-year-old recovering in the hospital. Police say based on their investigation, it looks like the boy was stabbed by his teenage brother. The injury appears to be non-life threatening.

We have an update on the release of body-cam footage showing an officer punching and tasing a suspected jaywalker. The City of Asheville has now released eight more videos from that night to the public showing what happened before, during and after the incident from several different angles. An open letter from Asheville Police Chief Tammy Hooper and acting City Manager Cathy Ball says, “the City of Asheville understands that there is substantial work to do to restore the public's trust... Especially for those in the African American community.”
