Lunden was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and is now sharing her experiences with the world. She had advice for women who have just been diagnosed.

"You don't have to go through this on your own. There are wonderful nurse navigators and nurses that can help put you together with support groups," Lunden said.

Lunden encourages patients to learn about their specific type of breast cancer. She says patients can then build a circle of support with doctors, family members and friends.

News 13's Jay Siltzer also attended Friday's event.
