Monday Update: Overnight freeze leaves ice on the roads but warm-up on the way today(Image credit: WLOS Staff)

Expect slippery spots on the roads Monday morning as the snow melt we had Sunday refroze overnight across the region.

Monday brings a brief warm-up, with sunshine and highs near 50 degrees, warm enough to melt most of the snow.

Our next cold blast arrives late Tuesday, bringing some light snow, mainly to the higher elevations north of I-40.

Winds pick up, putting wind chills below zero in some locations late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

Wednesday will be bitterly cold and windy, with highs only in the mid 30's.

Schools across the mountains will be closed and/or delayed Monday.
