New federal charges have been filed in the case of a Cherokee bail bondsman accused of having sex with clients.

The mother of an alleged victim is now charged with aiding and abetting and sexual abuse of a minor.

The complaint said the mother took her daughter to bondsman Phillip Armachain's residence on numerous occasions because Armachain wouldn't loan money to the mother unless she sent her daughter in to pick it up.

The complaint said Armachain would sexually abuse the minor, then give her the loan money for her mother.

Three women have testified they had sex with Armachain in return for their bond fees or personal loans being paid.

The charges involving adults were dropped, but he still faces three counts of sexual abuse with a minor. Armachain pleaded not guilty in June.
