Sunday was a day of holidays. Not only was it Father's Day and National Fishing Day, June 18 was also National Splurge Day.

"It’s a good excuse," said Terri Wells. Laughing, she added, "Some people splurge every day."

Wells and her daughter Ellis were at a local cafe.

"This morning we did splurge. I didn’t know it was splurge day, but we got quiche and cookies," Wells said.

Patti Dutton works downtown and says she doesn't need a holiday to treat herself.

"I think it’s fun, I love splurging, especially in the summertime," Dutton said. "I splurge quite often, it’s in my blood."

Dutton added that you have to be wise about your indulgences, but said taking good care of yourself is important.
