PHOTOS: New White Duck Taco set to open early June with family-friendly, outdoor vibe
ARDEN, N.C. (WLOS) —
The White Duck Taco team is getting ready for an early June opening with its new Asheville-area location, on Miami Circle across from T.C. Roberson in Arden.
The latest Duck is a renovated former home, about 1750 square feet, with a parking lot and a grassy "back yard" that owners Ben Mixson and Laura Reuss plan to turn into a family-friendly outdoor area with lawn games and picnic tables.
From the White Duck website:
The Skyland Duck is nestled in the heart of South Asheville tucked away near Long Shoals Road. There is a free parking lot, plenty of outdoor seating and games, pet friendly, and pretty awesome.

The interior will seat around 45, and there's room for 100 more outdoors on a 1.3-acre lot.
The newest White Duck will be the biggest one in Asheville, and is one of two being opened as the latest additions to an independently owned regional chain. Along with a new Asheville location, there's a new Duck opening soon in Greenville, S.C. at Southampton Station.
The interior of the new Asheville location will feature more work by local artist Ishmael, along with "a few other artists," Reuss said.
It will also showcase a wall of wooden tiles created by kids as part of FEAST Asheville, a local organzation that works to empower youth and families to grow, prepare and enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables.
"We just like what they do," Mixson said.
