It's the end of the road for retail store Toys R Us.

CNN is reporting the iconic toy retailer will close or sell its remaining U.S. stores, including the one on Brevard Road in Asheville.

Toys R Us has been in business for 70 years and, at one time, was America's leading toy retailer.

"Very sorry that it's closing, I mean a lot of people are losing their jobs over this," shopper Chelsea Chase said.

"I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I haven't been here a lot.So it's not like the end of the world," shopper Madison said.

The news comes six months after the company filed for bankruptcy and two months after announcing plans to close nearly 200 stores.
