Public hearing scheduled over new hospital in Macon County

A public hearing is scheduled in Macon County over plans to build a new hospital.

Angel Medical Center proposes to construct a two-story, 82,600 square foot hospital with 30 acute care beds and three operating rooms near the intersection of US Highway 23/441 and Hunnicut Lane in Franklin, approximately one mile from the existing hospital. The project is expected to cost $45 million and would be completed in October 2021.

A public hearing for the project will be held Dec.19 at 10 a.m. in the Multi-purpose Room, Macon County Parks and Recreation Department, Community Facilities Building, 1288 Georgia Road in Franklin.

That public hearing is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Macon County Parks and Rec Department.
