Southeast wrestling teams help people in need with Headlock on Hunger
ASHEVILLE, N.C -- Wrestling teams from all over the south now have a common opponent.
Davidson College was the first to drop off food donations for the Headlock on Hunger campaign.
Last year, Eblen Charities collected 10,000 pounds of food and $5000 from Southern Conference Schools.
Their tournament is being held at Kimmel Arena. If you donate there, you'll save $3 off your wrestling ticket.
"When you're hungry, nothing else matters. One in five children in our community are at home sometimes without food. The only meal they might get is at school," said Bill Murdock of Eblen Charities.
Along with the wrestling tournament, you can also donate food at the SoCon basketball tournament at the U.S. Cellular Center.
