This weekend thousands are expected to go "hog wild" at BaconFest Asheville.

It's happening Saturday, August 26th, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Highland Brewing in Asheville.

The event is organized by 105.9 The Mountain radio station and Asheville's American Idol, Caleb Johnson, will also perform. Ingles is the presenting sponsor.

Nikki Mitchell, events director for 105.9, says more than 20 area restaurants will be serving up bacon-infused dishes and attendees will decide the winner of the "people's choice" category.

On News 13 This Morning, Lauren Brigman introduced viewers to one of the participating chefs, Chef Kyle Allen, with Mountain Madre in downtown Asheville. Chef Kyle will be preparing pork belly tacos for the VIP ticket holders.

Tickets are $20 for general admission and $50 for VIP, which includes early admission and a special gift bag with a $20 Serenity Spa gift card. Kids ages 9 and younger get in for free.
