The invitation-only funeral service for the Rev. Billy Graham was held on Friday, March 3, 2018, starting at noon.

Franklin Graham, Billy's son, delivered the funeral message, and other members of the family spoke, including Franklin's siblings, Virginia and Anne.

The private service before around 2000 mourners, including President Trump and former North Carolina governor Pat McCrory, lasted about 90 minutes. It was held under a tent in the main parking lot in front of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte.

After the service, Graham's body, in a pine casket built by prison inmates, was buried on library property, next to the grave of his wife, Ruth.

Other program participants included associate evangelists, musicians and friends who were part of the ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
