Those in the tree removal business said their phones have been ringing consistently with people who need trees removed after Irma lashed the area earlier this week.

Most of the roadways are clear, but it's the limbs on houses that are still a problem.

"We have had calls for everything, but trees on houses and cars are our first priority," said Pat Newcomb, owner of Newcomb Tree Service.

It's been two days since Irma passed through the mountains, but cleaning up after her continues.

"As far as mass damage around town, this is the biggest we have seen in a couple years," Newcomb said.

Newcomb, who has had his tree removal business for 11 years, said his crews have been working nonstop to clear toppled trees and debris from houses and roadways.

"Very hectic right now. We are still getting calls about people just reporting trees on houses, so our guys are going to be working daylight to dark to get things cleared up," he said.
