Haley, SC officials say justice served in Roof guilty verdict
CHARLESTON, SC (WACH) - Governor Nikki Haley said justice has been served after Dylann Roof was found guilty of all 33 federal charges in the Mother Emaneul killings.
Haley released a short statement following the verdict, ""It is my hope that the survivors, the families, and the people of South Carolina can find some peace in the fact that justice has been served."
Following the June 2015 killings, Haley was emotional after the killings and attended all every funeral of the Emanuel Nine.
Haley was part of the movement of the removal of the Confederate flag off of State House grounds following the tragedy.
The governor was not the only SC figure to react to the verdict as US Senator Tim Scott said he hopes this ruling gives the families justice.
