Avery's Creek students take on kindness challenges
BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) —
Second graders at Avery's Creek Elementary School showed a little love and kindness to their school nurse.
Students wrote messages of thanks and appreciates to Nurse Tiffany.
"I think that she's going to feel really happy because she's done so much for us, and she would deserve a thank you card," student Samantha said.
It's just one of the many things they're doing for the Great Kindness Challenge.
The kids have a sheet of challenges to take on. When they complete a challenge, they mark it off the sheet.
"It's, like, respect, and you just have to be kind to each other, and if you want to be treated kind, you've got to treat other people how you want them to treat you," Neicy, a second-grader, said of the challenge.
School counselor Josh Williams asked the students which challenges they thought were the toughest.
One student said smiling at 25 people, because that's a whole lot of smiles. Another student said one of the easier challenges was to make a wish for a child in another country.
