Kids gathered at Pack Memorial Library to celebrate the completion of a new dinosaur-themed mural.

Asheville artist Gus Cutty painted the mural.

To help celebrate, representatives from the Asheville Museum of Science were on hand to teach children about dinosaurs.

Library employee Erin Makara hopes the mural helps kids get excited about reading and the library.

"Learning about them knowing about them that they're colorful that they're huge and extraordinary, and what can this library be for people? It's the dinosaur library," Makara said. "We're going know this library because of those beasts that are towering outside and looking in on us. It's really exciting."

There is a second smaller mural at the library that was also painted by Gus Cutty.

The murals were made possible with funds from the Friends of the Library.
