A former Harlem Globetrotter delivered a powerful message against bullying at a mountain school.

Kevin "Special K" Daley, who is now a national speaker against bullying, visited kids at Bell Elementary in east Asheville on Monday.

Daley says he first learned about how widespread the problem is during his playing days when kids would tell him they were being bullied.

He said it is a serious message, but he also uses humor.

"I like to make it fun, because if you don't make it fun, the kids aren't going to pay attention," Daley explained. "But while we're having fun, the message is serious -- that bullying must stop. If you see bullying, you have to do something about it. You have to tell a teacher, tell an adult. And if you are a bully yourself, that's not cool. You have to stop the bullying."

Kevin's program began in California. He has received recognition for his efforts from lawmakers there and in Washington.
