Many high school seniors across the mountains will soon be taking that milestone walk in their caps and gowns. Some school districts have a wonderful tradition of helping those students reflect on their past before they begin their future.

Senior walks bring together high school and elementary school students for an inspirational moment.

At Junaluska Elementary School, students reminded Tuscola High School seniors not to forget where they came from.

"It means a lot to them probably because all the memories they had here just come back," elementary student Cameron said.

The soon-to-be graduates walked the halls where they first started their education journey.

"It brought a smile to all of the kids' faces and the teachers' faces, too, and I'm really happy about that," Tuscola senior Stephen said.

The moment is bitter sweet and a little mind-blowing to think about when these kindergartners will graduate.

"They're the graduating class of, like, 2030," senior Sophie said. " Like, that's crazy, so they're going to be in our shoes in 12 years."

Tuscola High School's graduation ceremony will be June 15, 2018.
