It is a celebration that has continued for at least 30 years: The Preschoolers, We Love You! program in downtown Asheville.

Every year the Asheville-Buncombe Library System puts on the celebration as a way to say thank you and to reach children who are not part of the weekly story times.

During the event, local librarians shared their love for music and movement at the Pack Library.

"So, this is part of our pre-school outreach program, and we're able to reach thousands of children with books and stories and story times for kids who are in child care, and don't have an opportunity to come to the library during the week," Director of the Outreach Program Abby Moser said.

This year, they picked a theme that brings food to life, like the book "The Little Red Hen," "Stone Soup," and "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie."

There are three different locations for the program this year. The final performance will be on Thursday at the Black Mountain Library. There will be one performance at 9:30 a.m. and another at 10:45 a.m.
