A very special event brought students and parents together at Atkinson Elementary School for Family Engagement Night.

The school celebrated its Break Out Night on Tuesday. Friends and family are invited to the school to see what students across Henderson County are doing in the classroom.

They experienced the latest technology and even saw technology from as far back as 50 years ago. But the highlight of the night was the Break Out Box.

'Which is a new educational opportunity that the county has taken advantage of where they can answer clues and figure out codes to break into these boxes, and there's usually a prize in the box," Anna Dillion, a fouth-grade teacher, said. "It's sort like an escape room, but backwards."

The students were happy to show how they use coding to get inside those Break Out Boxes.

Rugby Middle School's robotic's team also brought robots to the event for the younger kids to play with.
