On Saturday, January 13th, the Woodfin Y.M.C.A. is hosting a Winter Market from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. There will be vendors on site with locally grown produce, crafts, herbal remedies, baked goods and other products.
The Y.M.C.A. also offers free coaching connections sessions to make meeting your wellness goals a little easier. You can meet one-on-one with a healthy living coach to set goals, learn about the exercise equipment, and create a customized workout plan.
Jessica Medlin, Healthy Living Coordinator for the Y.M.C.A., says setting attainable goals are key to forming healthy habits.
Group fitness classes are offered for members. In fact, staff recommend having a workout buddy to maintain accountability and help you achieve your goals.
"If you don't have someone right off the bat that you can join with, we always say that you can come to a group exercise class and maybe meet someone. The great thing about the classes is that's where a lot of our communities are really built within the Y,” says Matt Coomes, Associate Executive Director of the Woodfin YMCA.
The Y.M.C.A. is also offering a new member discounted rate through January 15th. You can stop in any area Y.M.C.A. to learn more.
