The Mountain Area Career Fair returns to the WNC Ag Center in Fletcher on Tuesday, April 10. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Davis Event Center at the WNC Ag Center.

More than 140 employers from the region will be offering career opportunities. This is a free event and no registration is required.

There will be employers representing advanced manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality and tourism, finance, local and state government, skilled trades, technology /IT and more.

On News 13 This Morning Lauren Brigman talked with organizers and employers about what job seekers can expect at the career fair.

The career fair is sponsored by the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board along with the NC Department of Commerce, NCWorks, AB Tech and Blue Ridge Community College.

"It's about finding that talent, figuring out if there's a way to leverage training dollars to allow the businesses to provide on the job training or work based learning for those employees to help them gain those necessary skills," said Tim Mathis, director of regional operations for NC Works.

Winter weather affected attendance for the Homecoming Career Fair back in January.

The goal Tuesday is to give employers and prospective employees a second chance to make connections.
