RiverLink Prepares for Earth Day Kid's Festival

"(Water) Color is Life," by Salvadora from Franklin School for the Performing Arts

On Saturday, April 22nd, about 20 non-profits and other local organizations come together for RiverLink's Earth Day Kid's Festival.

The festival kicks off at 9am and runs until 2pm at the Salvage Station on Riverside Drive, in Asheville. The festival is free and organizers expect around 2,000 people to attend, to take part in educational opportunities and hands-on fun.

For example, one of the vendors, Asheville Farmstead School, will have a box of items on-hand to educate kids to use their sensory skills to learn about nature. Winners of a poetry and art competition will also be announced by RiverLink's Executive Director, Garrett Artz.
